The graphics card seems to work ok, but I am unable to install any driver for it. I tried it first on Windows XP SP3. On the device manager the card appears just as a VGA compatible card, and it doesn't recognize the vendor, or anyhting. I have tried to install original ATI drivers, Acer drivers (the card has an Acer vbios), and modded drivers, but they don't work. The Bios of the laptop was quiet old, and I have updated it to check if that was the problem, but the drivers keep failing.
On Windows 7, the default microsoft drivers identifies the card as an ATI HD3650, but again, I cannot install ATI drivers to get 3D acceleration. Any on hint on what could be the problem? So my question is, will the change be more or less painless like with 3650 or will I need to fiddle with changing bioses and such? Has anyone tried it yet (I know those cards are hard to get hands on). Getting 8600M again is not an option ofcourse. Also, I know that ATI has poor drivers for linux, and since I'm using Linux as my only OS, is that true for 3650/4650 series.
